AI-Powered Defect Detection
Manufacturing Visual QC
Built a complete quality inspection system for a manufacturer—from the industrial camera on the line to the software operators use every day. The system flags defective product in real-time, logs every inspection, and gives the team a full defect review dashboard.
The Problem
Quality checks were done by eye—operators watching product move down the line and trying to catch defects visually. Bad joints got through regularly, and the company only found out when customers complained. No records, no consistency between shifts, and no way to know if the problem was getting worse.
Our Approach
Installed an industrial camera on the production line, trained an AI on hundreds of real product images, and built custom software around it. The system captures every joint, runs it through AI that learned what 'good' looks like from hundreds of real samples, and gives operators an instant PASS or FAIL. When it flags a defect, it saves the image, sounds an alert, and logs everything. The whole interface was built for factory floor use—big clear status, defect history panel, session stats, and one-click export for quality reports.
The Result

Results
Zero

Inspection in under one second per piece
Full defect log with images for every shift
Runs on a single Mac Mini on the factory floor
